Program

Itinéraire du Grand Tour of Tunisia – 10 Days.

Departure from Tunis after a briefing and familiarisation with the motorcycles. Ride to Zaghouan, known for its Temple of Water and mountain scenery, then continue to Kairouan, the fourth holy city of Islam. Discover the Great Mosque, the UNESCO-listed medina and the traditional souks. Hotel check-in and dinner.

Ride to Sbeitla and visit one of North Africa’s finest Roman archaeological sites, including its temples, forum and remarkable remains. In the afternoon, continue to Gafsa, a historic city at the gateway to southern Tunisia. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Head into the mountains of western Tunisia along the legendary Rommel Track, with its spectacular desert scenery. Arrive in Tamerza, Tunisia’s largest mountain oasis, known for its canyons, waterfalls and abandoned old village. Hotel check-in and discovery of the oasis.

Ride towards Tozeur via Nefta, a spiritual town in southern Tunisia. Visit the famous Star Wars film sets and Nefta oasis. On arrival in Tozeur, explore the medina and its ochre-brick architecture. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Cross the spectacular Chott El Jerid, Tunisia’s largest salt lake. Pass through Douz, the Gateway to the Sahara, before reaching Ksar Ghilane amid the dunes of the Grand Erg Oriental. Settle into a traditional camp, dine under the stars and spend the night in a Bedouin tent.

After sunrise in the desert, ride towards Tataouine. Discover the Berber village of Chenini, its ksour and troglodyte dwellings. Continue to Matmata, renowned for its rock-cut homes and Star Wars locations. Check in at a troglodyte hotel.

Ride to El Jem to visit its impressive Roman amphitheatre, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the best-preserved monuments of the Roman Empire. Continue to Monastir, known for its ribat, marina and seafront. Hotel check-in and dinner.

Follow the Mediterranean coast to Hammamet, a resort town known for its beaches, medina and welcoming atmosphere. Free time to explore the old town and marina or enjoy the beach. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, return to Tunis along coastal roads and check in at the hotel. The afternoon is free to enjoy the capital or relax before the final day.

Immerse yourself in Tunisian history and culture in the UNESCO-listed Medina of Tunis, its traditional souks and historic monuments. The tour ends in Sidi Bou Said, the white-and-blue village overlooking the Gulf of Tunis. End of the tour.
